Classes we offer

We offer a wide range of heated and unheated classes designed to be accessible to all.

Bikram

Suitable for all
90/75/60 Minutes

A heated Bikram method class comprising of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The original hot yoga. Developed in the 1970s with Western lifestyles and bodies in mind, this series systematically works through the whole body inside and out. The heat provides a safer working environment to release tension in the body. Especially great for people working with injuries and ailments.

Flow

Suitable for all
75/60 Minutes

Vinyasa based class – movement linked with breath, working from one posture smoothly in to the next. The heat is off (though never a cold room) as you provide your own heat with the continuous movement.

Ashtanga

Strong and fast-paced, we recommend taking a few Flow classes first
75/90 Minutes

A physically demanding practice developed by K. Pattabhi Jois in the early 20th century, combining dynamic movements and a variety of static postures designed to build strength, stamina and concentration. We will focus on the Primary Series, a set sequence of movements, giving you the opportunity to return, develop and track your progress.

Beginners

Suitable for all
75 Minutes

An introduction to yoga – a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the setting of a class, learn breathing techniques to support your practice, and build a foundation and understanding of postures.

Hot Flow

Suitable for all
60/75 Minutes

A vinyasa based class – movement linked with breath, working from one posture smoothly in to the next. The heat is on so be prepared to get your sweat on.

Slow

Suitable for all
75/60 Minutes

Unheated Yin/Restorative style yoga. The postures will be held for a much longer duration than the other classes we offer. This allows for us to work not only our muscles but also deep into our fascia and connective tissue. The long holds help us to find a little more stillness in our minds.

Classic

This class is suitable for all but particularly those new to yoga
75 Minutes

A classic hatha yoga class focusing on breathing practices, relaxation as well as posture work (flow and static). A great all around class to develop strength, flexibility and balance. With a strong focus on alignment and overall form of the postures.

Meditation & Pranayama

Suitable for all
60 Minutes

Slow down and explore a variety of meditation and mindfulness techniques, pranayama and breath work in combination with gentle movement to help ease the body. Restorative and nourishing, this class will be made accessible to everyone and will be a great path in for anyone looking to start exploring these practices.

Forrest

Suitable for all, but best to have a few Flow classes under your belt first
90/75 Minutes

An inspiring, grounding and deeply healing yoga practice. Guided by the breath, this intelligent sequencing will build your flexibility and strength while relieving tension. Forrest Yoga is taught at a temperature between 25-30 degrees and has a strong focus on core strength. Expect to; work with postures unique to this style, breathe deep, hold the poses for that tad bit longer, release stress and truly connect to your self with compassion and interest. Suitable for those working with injuries, it is a therapeutic practice both emotionally and physically.

Gentle

75 Minutes

Yoga is for everyone and at LANO we want to make sure no one is missing out. ‘Gentle’ is a class specifically designed for those students who want to move slow and mindfully.  Poses are broken down so that they are safe and accessible.  It is great class for those working with specific injuries.

Movement

Suitable for all
60 Minutes

This idea of this class is in the name, no one style of movement modality or discipline but instead a broad incorporation of many. Expect to explore strength, fluidity, mobility, coordination, stillness, breath-work and more. Using these components as nourishment, we will move towards creating a mind and body that is adaptive; able to navigate not only controlled, organised and planned movements or situations, but also the variable and unpredictable. This approach offers a variety of benefits from learning to embrace play and rediscovering patterns of movement forgotten from childhood, to improving your ability to problem solve, to better protecting the body from injury. Above all else, this class will embrace exploration – going beyond ideas of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ ways to move and prioritising a continual process of trial, error and discovery.
